Willie O. Schwanz, age 79 of Waco formerly of New Braunfels passed away Friday September 10, 2010 at a local nursing facility. Memorial Services will be held 10AM Thursday September 16, 2010 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum in New Braunfels, Texas.
Willie was born April 9, 1931 in Marion, Texas to William and Erna Schwanz. He married Irene Wirtz on February 09, 1960. He was employed at Mission Valley Textile Mill for over 25 years. While working at the mill was his job, his two real passions in life were farming and his three grandsons. “Pa Pa” as he was called, was a fixture at every little league baseball, football and basketball game the boys played.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alton.
Willie is survived by his wife Irene of 50 years; two daughters Lori Ann Schwanz of New Braunfels, Texas and Linda Kay Brown and her husband Richard of Crawford, Texas; Three grandsons, Chase, Lane and Peyton Rathke; four brothers Fritz and his wife Helen, Roland, Milton and Robert; two sisters, Elsie Troell and Hilda Watts.
