William Rhoades

William (Hawk) Rhoades, Jr., 73 passed away peacefully on February 19, 2016 surrounded by his adult children and their spouses. William was cremated and interment will be at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas. A memorial service will be held on February 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas.

William was born on February 22, 1942 to William and Fannie (Smart) Rhoades in Paris, Texas. He worked for twenty seven years for General Motors Parts Division and retired in 1993. After retiring, he stayed very active working a total of seventeen various part-time jobs. William was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Wanda, parents, William and Fannie, sisters, Greta and Jean and brother, Jerry.

He is survived by brother, Daniel and wife Carol; brother, Robert; a sister, Barbara and husband Carl Gene; daughter, Twana Stewart; son, William and wife Samantha; daughter Angela and husband John Larson; grandchildren, Timmy and wife, Cindie, Riley, Hannah, and Valerie; six step grandchildren that he loved as his own; great-granddaughter, Allora; and great-grandson, Blaine; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Christian Care Hospice or Mimosa Lane Baptist Church, both located in Mesquite.
