Wendell (Joey) Mayo

Wendell “Joey” Mayo age 58 of Waco, TX passed away Monday August 27, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held Friday August 31, 2012 at 7pm his uncle George “ Sonny” Rhea officiating.

Joey was born December 12, 1953 to Joe and Frances Mayo Steele. Upon graduating from Connally High School in 1972 he enlisted and served 2 years in the United States Air Force. He later enrolled in Temple Junior College where he received an associate degree in business.

Joey is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Joe Mayo.

He is survived by his mother, Frances Mayo Steele of Axtell, his children, daughter Wendy Magee and husband Rand of Keller, TX, son Tyler Mayo and Marybelle, her children Jordan and Justin and son Jacob Mayo all of Waco and his grandchildren Kenzie and Bryson Magee of Keller, TX. Three sisters Kathy Hill and husband Keith of Waco, Karen Bettge of China Spring and Laurie Connell and husband David of Axtell. He is also survived by two beloved uncles Douglas McRay of Lorena, TX and Sonny and Peggy Rhea all of whom showed him great kindness and love when he needed the most along with many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the home of Keith and Kathy Hill at 229 Speegle Rd. immediately following the service.
