Wade Armstrong

Wade H Armstrong age 95 of Waco passed away peacefully Wednesday morning May 17th 2017. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 19th, 2017 at the mausoleum at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 on Thursday, May 18th, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Wade was born January 26th, 1922 in Miller Grove, Texas to William and Clara Armstrong attended School in Miller Grove. He joined the Army Air Force and served his country in Italy during World War II. He married Sybil Grace Shode, and they enjoyed a marriage of fifty years before she preceded him in death in July of 1992. He worked for Lance Cookie Company for almost 30 years and after retirement Built Homes in the Waco area.

Wade enjoyed life, he was an avid pheasant hunter and enjoyed many trips hunting in Nebraska with friends and family. He loved coaching youth baseball and was a huge Texas Ranger fan. He loved his church family and serving the lord at First Methodist Waco. He prepared many meals and help raise money for OMS by selling Corsicana fruit cakes and served on the OMS board. He is survived by his children Ernie & Becky Armstrong of Snyder, Texas, David Armstrong of Waco, Texas, Keren & Ronnie Crawford of Waco, Texas, Kim & Gene Doss of Katy, Texas, Melanie & Randy Jones of Austin, Texas, 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
