Travis Ray

June 25, 1935 — August 3, 2010

Travis Maxwell Ray passed away Tuesday August 3, 2010 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Harris Creek Cemetery with son-in-law Jeff Nobles officiating. Visitation will be Thursday August 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Travis was born June 25, 1935 in Waco to Fred and Cordie Abel Ray. He grew up on the North Bosque River and enjoyed fishing and swimming with his brother W.D. Ray. He graduated from Waco High School in 1953. He was a lifelong member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a working electrician for at least 40 years. He was a very able and qualified electrician, who also enjoyed carpentry work and creating tools and gadgets in his machine shop. Travis enjoyed his friends and had acquired many of them over the years and was a member of a local bridge club.

He was preceded in death by a son Stephen M. Ray, his parents and his wife Sherri Allen Ray.

Travis is survived by his three children, a son Michael Ray; two daughters Angie Ray Nobles and Leeanne Ray Vandiver; a brother William D. Ray; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and many cousins.
