“Tony” Mark Anthony McGilvray, 67, of Robinson, passed away on July 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a brief, but courageous battle with esophagus cancer. A visitation will be 6 to 8pm Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr., Waco, TX. Funeral services will be Monday, August 3, 2020, at 11:30am also at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Tony was born February 8, 1953 in Mexia, TX to Benton & Mildred McGilvray. He grew up in Groesbeck, TX with 9 other siblings. As an adult, he met and married the love of his life and best friend for 47 years, Bonnie Wade McGilvray. They married on Aug. 5th, 1972 and lived in Waco/Robinson, TX and raised 3 children.
Tony was employed at BNSF (Burlington Northern/Santa Fe) for 48 years and had just retired in December 2019. He enjoyed gardening with his wife, fishing & hunting with his son, celebrating Valentine’s Day with his daughters, watching westerns on the TV and most of all he enjoyed playing with his 4 grandchildren. He loved that he taught all of his children to drive, and was always up for a “road trip”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benton & Mildred McGilvray and sister, Janie Gibson.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie McGilvray, Daughter, Tanya Pearson (Devery) of Ponchatoula, LA; Son, Mark McGilvray Jr. (Jessica) of Katy, TX; Daughter, Ashley Paine (Clifton) of Myrtle Creek, OR; Grandsons, Ryan Burson of Carrollton and Conrad Paine and Granddaughters, Allison Paine and Hadley McGilvray.
Pallbearers will be Matt McGilvray, Phillip Gibson, Adam Gibson, Steven Koen, Wesley Kreder and Blaine Boehler.
