Thomas Knight

June 22, 1931 — October 27, 2013

Thomas Jefferson Knight died peacefully at his home in Woodway in the early hours of October 27, 2013. Visitation will be Sunday, November 03, 2013 from 12pm -2pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. He will be cremated according to his wishes.

He was born on June 22, 1931 to Lena and Thomas Floyd knight of Double Springs, Alabama. He attended schools in Alabama. He joined the Air Force in 1950. In 1951 he married Martha Lena Craig in the Presbyterian Church in Robinson, Texas.

He served in both Korean and Viet Nam Wars, retiring in 1971. He then joined the veterans Administration Regional Office in Waco as a Benefits Counselor. Ill health caused him to retire medically from the VA.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Waco, Mizpath Chapter #7 3 Order of the Eastern Star and Consistory in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Karem Shrine, Waco. He was a lifetime member of the Good Sam’s Club, holding membership in both Cotton Place Sams and Bosque River Sams.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, three children, Thomas j. Knight Jr., of Waco and Felicity Lane and husband Richard Coronado of Crowley, Texas and Cecily Harbin and husband Keith Randall Kelly of McGregor. Five grandchildren, Richard Coronado Jr. of Ft. Worth, Raquel Coronado of Austin, Ria Coronado of Austin, Thomas J. Knight III of Engelwood, Colorado, and Keith Randal Kelly Jr. of McGregor, Texas and a number of nephew and nieces.
