Theresa Gomez

Theresa Ramirez Gomez, 51, of McGregor, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 surrounded by family. A Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:00 at St. Eugene’s in McGregor. There will be a visitation Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 6:00 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Theresa Ramirez Gomez was born January 10th, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois, to Calistro and Olga Zepeda Ramirez. The family moved to McGregor, Texas in 1980. Theresa graduated from McGregor High School in 1984. She then attended MCC, and Minot University with a degree in Social Services. Theresa had a passion for working with at risk kids. She made sure that every kid did not go unnoticed. She was previously employed by Charles Hall, Americorp, and Waco Center for Youth. After a twenty year absence, the once high school sweet-hearts, Theresa and Charlie, reunited in marriage June 5, 2004 amongst family and friends.

Theresa was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) five years ago. She never once let it hinder her lifestyle. She always found the strength to be around family and friends. Theresa may have lost the battle with MS, but she won the war, pain free. She will be dearly missed by all.

Mrs. Gomez is preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charlie; mother, Olga; brother Cali; sister, Cindy; children, Joe Villanueva of Shreveport, LA, Adrianna Villanueva of Duncanville, TX, Julia and Abel Ontiveros of Duncanville, Texas; fur baby, Choo Choo Baby; grandchildren, Elliana Olvera, Aliya Rios, Jayden Ontiveros, Ava Rios, Ninjah Anderson; nieces, Serena Rigby, Gracie Ramirez, and Ryliana Rodarte.
