Susan “SueBob” Smith of Waco, formally of Midland/Odessa area, passed away early Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, 2019, at the age of 67. A memorial party will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday February 9, 2019, at Maverick Theater, 4511 N. Midkiff Road, Midland, Texas 79705
SueBob was born Feb. 17, 1951, in Great Bend, Kansas, the only child of the late Roy Reeves and Edna Lucille (Henderson) Smith. At a young age, she moved to Odessa where she graduated from Odessa Permian High School. She continued her education at Odessa College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance from North Texas State University. On Dec. 31, 1982, she married Dr, James Huddleston in Midland, Texas.
Much of her life has been dedicated to music. SueBob played the Oboe with the Midland/Odessa Symphony for several years. She also played with the Fort Wayne Symphony in Fort Wayne, Indiana. For fifteen years, she managed the Maverick Players Box Office. SueBob also worked in the Midland Symphony Box Office and the Permian Play House Box Office. She also served on the Symphony Board for several years in Midland/Odessa.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-six years, Dr. James Huddleston; a step-son, Joel Huddleston and wife Pamela; two step-daughters, Jennifer Coke and husband Barry Pledger, Jessica Wilds and husband Sam; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
