Stacy Leigh (Posey) Luera

McGregor, Texas

Stacy Leigh Luera (Posey) of McGregor, passed away on September 22, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 24th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr., Waco.  Funeral Services will be Friday, September 25th , 11:00 am at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Danny Tomlinson.  Wearing mask and social distancing will be required at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Stacy was born September 3, 1967 in Smithville, Texas.  She graduated from Connally High School in 1986.  After graduation she attended McLennan College working towards her master’s in social work. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas as a Provider Advocate Specialist for more than 12 years.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crafting, traveling and riding with her husband on their Harley Davidson.

She was preceded in death by her father Norman Ray Posey, sister Yolanda Halbert and fur babies Titan, Stud and Leo.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Luera; parents Charlie and Beverly Halbert all of McGregor; sons, Cameron Blackburn and wife Corinna of Norfolk, VA, Brett Blackburn and wife Haley of McGregor, Hawk Luera of West Bend, WI; Grandsons, Caden and Conner Blackburn; Sisters, Terri Keller of McGregor and Leigh Halbert of Ridgeland, MS; Brother Mike Halbert of MS; Aunts, Shirley Elmore of Ft. Stockton, Uncle Hildred and wife Beverly Green of Madison, MS, Glenda Sue Umberger of West, Frances Fleming of Elm Mott and Ann Harris of Bellmead; Mother-In-Law Dorothy Luera of McGregor; Sisters-In-Law Tina Esparza and husband Eddie and Babette Luera all of Amarillo, TX; Nieces, Marie and husband Hugo Hernandez of Amarillo, TX, Alexandra and husband Kenton Miser of Highlands Ranch, CO, Jessica and husband Dink Nunez of Lakeland, FL, Bonnie Luera of Hewitt, Linda Luera of Tucumcari, NM, Macrecia and husband Joseph Haynes of Aviano, Italy; Nephews, Nicholas Reno of Surprise, AZ, Jordan Howard of Amarillo, TX, Marcus Luera of Tucumcari, NM and Ryan and wife Jessica Halbert of Brandon, MS; several great nieces and great nephews; best friend Heidi Grant of Waco, along with a host of friends and fur babies TJ and Sadie.

Pallbears will be Cameron Blackburn, Brett Blackburn, Eddie Esparza, Mike Halbert, Hugo Hernandez, Eliseo Loa, Kenton Miser, and Robert Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Gonzales, Robert Harrison, Jordan Howard, Dawson Keller, Hawk Luera, and Nicholas Reno.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Hospice especially Kevin Mullens, Kathy Davis and Ascension Providence Heath Care nurse Travis and Lauren for providing excellent care during this difficult time.
