Sharron 'Pud' McRay

Sharron ‘Pud’ McRay, age 65 of Lorena, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2009 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Sharron was born on February 10, 1944 in Waco, Texas to the late Ruby (Hulme) and George Rhea. She graduated from LaVega High School. On November 2, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Douglas McRay. Sharron was very proud of her four grandchildren and attended as many of their school and sports events as possible. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Teresa Kay.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 45 years, Douglas McRay; daughters, Angela Janek and husband Stephen of Italy, Texas and Belinda Maldonado and husband John of Lorena; a sister, Frances Steele of Speegleville; a brother, George Rhea and wife Peggy of Kaufman; grandchildren, Kayla and McKenzie Maldonado and Garrett and Reese Janek; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Brad Aerl, Jon Mathers, Jody Mathers and Kenny Bradford. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Janek and John Maldonado.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sharron’s name to the American Cancer Society.
