Sharon “Sherri” L. Pickens Keller, age 61 of Elk, TX, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, with family by her side. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Grace Gardens Chapel, Visitation at 10:00am.
Sherri was born to the late Charles and Sandra Pickens of Elk, TX on August 20, 1955. She attended LaVega ISD and graduated in the class of 1973. She loved to travel to California to see family, her bike rides with Kenny and friends, and most recently taking all of her children and grandchildren on a cruise. She enjoyed going on the “Annual Beach Trip” with her sister and the girls. She was a very talented with crafts, she loved to cook and work out in the yard. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, and her passion to help others. She worked for LaVega ISD for 26 years. Sherri married her high school sweet heart and best friend, Kenny Keller on August 20, 1974.
Sherri was blessed to have a large, loving family. She is survived by her husband Kenny Keller of Elk, TX, her daughter, Kinna and husband Justin Jones of Leroy, TX., sons, Stephen and Lindsey Keller of Bellmead, TX. And Kevin Keller and Tiffany Farmer of Bellmead, TX. Grandchildren include Garrett, Seth, Dillon, Caroline, Emily, Coral, Kiersten, Jameson, Sydney and Kolby.
She is also survived by sister, Sheila and husband Tom Thun of Elk, TX., Brothers; Charlie and wife Rhetta Pickens of Bosqueville, TX., Johnnie and wife Janet Pickens, of Elk, TX., Joey Pickens and Leigh Ann Long of Woodway, TX. She is survived by her uncle Ernest and wife Wanda Pickens, Gary and wife Amber Brooks of Bryan, TX., and Steve Brooks of California, her Aunts Patti Neckar of Waco, and Mary Hollingsworth and husband Jimmy of Woodway. Niece and nephews include Chris Thun and Amber, Emily Smith and Cody, Adam Gunn and Jo Ann Pate, and Charlie Pickens III and Kristi, and along with many loving cousins and friends.
A special “Thank You” to the staff at Providence Hospice and the Baylor Scott and White McClinton Cancer Center who were so kind and compassionate during her treatments and journey.
