Scott Frederick Keller age 72, of Lorena passed away Sunday April 29, 2012 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1PM Friday May 4, 2012 at The Central Texas Veterans Cemetery at 11463 Texas 195 Killeen, Texas.
Scott was born on June 27, 1939 in McPherson, Kansas to Walter and Bernadine Corbin Keller. He graduated from Kemper Military Academy, and went on to attend both the University of Iowa and Morningside College. Scott served in the United States Army in the Viet Nam Conflict for which he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (w/Palm). After serving twenty years in the military, Scott retired to take an instructor’s position at Texas State Technical College. In 1996, Scott retired as program chair of the Diesel Heavy Equipment Department at TSTC. Scott was an avid motorcycle rider and loved to travel with his wife, Carola.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his sister Patricia Keller.
Scott is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Charlotte; his daughters Patricia LeGer (Jamie) and Katherine Keller-Moore (Robert); his granddaughters Amber, Kristina, Teri Lane, Yazmin, and Chenelle; great granddaughter Emma-Rae; brother Dwight Keller (Nicky), sister Kaye Bair (Tetsugen Heintz), his sister-in-law Gusti Brendel (Franz), his best friend, Charlie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
