Sandra Bockman , 70, of Waco, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday , Sept. 17, 2016 at Crestview Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 Friday, September 16, 2016 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Sandra was born to Calvin & Marjorie Swift on August 30, 1946 in Burke, South Dakota. The family relocated to Philip, South Dakota when she was a young child. She attended and graduated from Philip High School in 1964. On July 5, 1964 she married the love of her life Don Bockman who was a member of the United States Air Force. Her first son Brandon was born in Sedalia, MO in 1965. After her husband Don Bockman's honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1968 they relocated to College Station, Texas where her twin children Brenda and Brent were born in 1969. She was a realtor for several years with Apex Realty in College Station, Texas. She then changed career paths and became a librarian aide with College Station ISD. In 1986, she relocated to Waco, Texas and continued her career as a librarian aide for Waco ISD. She retired from Waco ISD as a librarian aide in 2011. After retiring, she stayed active working with the love of her life in their family land surveying business. Most importantly, she loved her christian faith, reading and studying the bible daily. She was also a volunteer at a local hospital and enjoyed crocheting, especially baby afghans; dozens of which she donated to several local organizations for the needy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson; and was an avid baseball fan and loved her Texas Rangers.

Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Calvin Swift and brother, Richard Swift.

She is survived by her mother Marjorie Swift; husband of 52 years, Don Bockman; brothers, Larry Swift and Tom Swift and his wife, Val; sons Brandon Bockman and Brent Bockman; daughter Brenda Montemayor and her husband, Johnny Montemayor; four grandchildren, Preston Bockman, Amber Montemayor, Alicia Montemayor, and JinJu Schmitz; and one great-grandson Cooper Bockman. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
