Samantha Tergerson, a loving child of God, from Waco, Texas was born to Terry and Gail Tergerson on February 12, 1994. Samantha died on March 9, 2011 while she was spending her Spring break at the home of her sister Karmin Tergerson Brown and Karmin’s fianceé Daryl Lee Farmer, when their home caught fire and burned while the three family members were soundly sleeping in their beds.
Samantha’s vibrant personality commanded any room she entered, and people could not help becoming beguiled with her quick wit and her passion for life. As a seventeen-year-old junior at Midway High school, her gusto to make a difference in people’s lives provided her with many career choices for her future. Her list of aspirations included careers in nursing, the United States Army, and photography. Starting a family of her own was also important to her. Samantha and her boyfriend Christopher Maring envisioned their plans to one day be married at the Rock Church in Cransfills Gap, Texas. While the anticipation to find her place in this world pulsed anxiously through her, Samantha never allowed her heart and mind to stray from her family. Her most enjoyable moments in life were making chocolate chip pancakes with her mother Gail. In addition, Samantha and Gail spent much of their time together watching chic flicks like the Twilight series and Pretty Little Liars; a pastime that even Samantha’s stepfather Brian reluctantly enjoyed. Samantha never let go of her inner tomboy as she had fun spending time with her father, Terry Tergerson, shooting guns at the range. However, like many girls, she also jumped at any opportunity to go shopping; she preferred to spend her shopping spree time with her grandmother Mary Lou Turman. Samantha’s relationship with her sister Karmin surpassed the average sisterly bond. For Samantha, Karmin was a sister, second mother, friend, and in Samantha’s eyes the epitome of human perfection. She was a loving daughter, sister, and treasured friend who has left a lasting impression in the souls of everyone who knew and loved her.
Samantha was preceded in death by grandparents Leland and Regina Tergerson and beloved uncle Erik Tergerson.
Samantha is survived by her mother, Gail Tergerson; father, Terry Tergerson; grandparents Mary Lou Turman and Ernest Turman; uncle; niece; Darrell and his wife Brittany, and their son Caleb Turman; and also many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
