Sam L. Jones

On May 15, 2024, the world said farewell to a compassionate soul, Sam Jones, who passed away in Waco Texas. Sam was born on February 29, 1936, in Eastland, Texas, and throughout his life, he left a legacy that will forever be remembered.

Sam graduated from Eastland high school and went on to further his studies at Texas Tech University. After leaving university he had a short stint in the oil fields before landing a job in insurance. Sam went on to dedicate 40 years of his life to serving the insurance industry, where he demonstrated an unwavering commitment and professionalism throughout his career.

In Sam’s teenage years he found joy in activities like hunting, fishing, and spending time hauling cattle with his dad. These experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong love of the outdoors. Even as an adult, Sam continued to pursue his hobbies which now included camping, hiking and floating various rivers always finding solace in his love for outdoors.

Sam’s commitment to serving his community led to him dedicating time to the Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville, and the youths summer camp.   He also was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ. Sam's circle of family and friends were profoundly touched by his presence.
