Ryan Chad Newton of Robinson, Texas passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Friday evening, March 7, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 9-year battle with brain cancer. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1207 N Old Robinson Rd, with Rev. Cary Killough officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, March 10 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
Ryan was born December 8, 1973 in Stephenville, Texas to Larry and Lynda Newton. He attended school in Hamilton and graduated from Meridian High School in 1992. He attended Tarlton State University where he played football. Ryan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1996 through 2004. He met the love of his life, Stefanie, in 2003 and they married on August 6, 2005. They were blessed with the birth of their son, Layne Hayes, in 2006, and their daughter, Landrye Cate, in 2008. Ryan worked as a loan officer at Educators Credit Union main branch from 2007 until his death. He loved his job, co-workers and customers.
Ryan was a devoted Christian and was an active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson. Ryan was a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, and loyal friend to so many. Ryan genuinely cared for everyone and was always the first to lend a helping hand where needed. Those who had the joy of knowing Ryan were truly blessed and he will live on through their cherished memories.
Ryan was preceded in death by his father and sister, Jenny Newton.
Ryan leaves behind his loving wife, Stefanie, son Layne and daughter Landrye. His mother, Debbie Roberson and stepfather, J.D. of Rainbow, sister, Shannon Smith of Austin, stepbrother, Wade Roberson and wife, Samantha, nieces Lilly, Harper and nephew, Dylan, all of Aledo, his aunts, Carolyn Bosley of Hamilton and friend, Jerry Pool of Woodway, Betty Jarvis and husband, Darwin of Lampassas, special cousin, Debbi Haile and husband Ramon of Hamilton, In-laws, Randy and Teresa Hargrave, brother-in-law, Cody Hargrave and wife Kelly, niece Paisley and nephew Jax, all of Robinson, grandmother, Betty Bethke of Woodway and a host of many other loving relatives and special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the love and support of Ryan by his cousins, Dr. Jerry Newton, Charles Smith and Lisa Campbell, and a very special thank you to all of those who were part of Team Ryan.
They also wish to thank his medical caregivers, Dr. Arthur Frankel of U.T. Southwestern of Dallas, Dr. Lisa Duchamp, and Scott & White Hospice.
