Ruth Newman

Ruth Teague Newman, 92, of Moody, passed away on May 4, 2017 in Temple, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., May 10, 2017 at the Moody Cemetery with Reverend Don Johnson officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Grace Gardens Funeral Home, Waco, TX is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Newman was born in Moody on Jan. 4, 1925 to Raymond and Chester Lewis Teague. She graduated from Moody Schools, National Business School in Waco and later attended The University of Texas in Austin. She married Billy W. Newman on Oct. 1, 1944 in the First Baptist Church of Moody and had served Treasurer of the Building Fund. At one time, she was a Cotton Buyer for Marshall & Marshall Cotton Company of Temple, and later served as a bookkeeper for several local firms. She was City Secretary for the City of Moody for 10 years. Later she was an owner/operator of Morgan's Point Reality near Lake Belton.

Survivors include several nephews and a sister-in-law. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Moody.
