Ruth Herring

Ruth Mary Herring, 85, passed away peacefully May 28, 2012. She was married for 46 years to her first beloved, Raymond Herring, until he passed in 1992. She was blessed with her second beloved, Darriel Raborn, who survives her along with her son Gary, his wife Kelley, and two adoring granddaughters Jessie and Emmylea. Additionally, Ruth is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Andy Korenek, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ruth was an amazing cook and an avid gardener. She loved all animals and had a passion for serving and helping others. Ruth was a Librarian at Highland Baptist Church for 30 years and an active member of the Harrison Center where she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed wood carving.

Ruth’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at 2 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home followed by interment of her ashes at Chapel Hill cemetery.
