Ronita Miller

February 26, 1940 — July 20, 2015

Ronita DeCordova Miller of Valley Mills passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 in Waco. Grace Gardens Funeral Home is hosting a memory room honoring the life of Ronita from 8:00 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Thursday for visitors. A graveside service will be held at Valley Mills Cemetery on Friday July 24,2015 at 10:00 am.

Ronita was born in Freeport, Texas to the late Juanita Inez Compton and Roger Odgen DeCordova on February 26, 1940. Ronita lived in Valley Mills most of her life and graduated from Valley Mills Schools in 1958. She went to North Texas State University where she obtained a degree in Home Economics and a teaching certificate. Ronita followed in her mother's footsteps by teaching in Valley Mills and Speegleville. Ronita and her husband are owners of Triple "D" Pump Company that they founded in 1981. Ronita is a long time member of the Sterling C. Robertson Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas Chapter. She served in SCR Chapter in several positions with the last position being the chapter President. She also served at the district level on the Board of Management and DRT district committees. Of all of her accomplishments, Ronita was most proud of her granddaughters. She loved them dearly and attended all their many activities.

Ronita is survived by her husband, David Clarence Miller. They were happily married for 53 years. Together, they had one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Dawn Miller and Lyndon Carl Love of Crawford. Two granddaughters, Sally Compton Love and Sarah Faye Love both of Crawford. Ronita is also survived by her only sister, Barbara Jean DeCordova Gatlin of Burleson, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the Crawford United Methodist Church or the Valley Mills Methodist Church.
