Ron was born May 6, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio to Julian and Mildred Suchecki. He attended Youngstown State University where he earned a BS in Marketing. While at Youngstown he met his future wife, Terry Gabert. They married in 1969. Ron is survived by his wife, Terry, Melinda, daughter (in-law) and 4 precious Grandchildren: twins, Jacob & Caleb, 24, Sage, 20, and Samuel, 8. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister & brother-in-law, a nephew and both of his children; daughter, Jeanie, and son, Ron, Jr.
Ron was hired right out of college by Stouffer Foods where he joined the sales force in Detroit, MI. He was Vice-President of Sales for Lender’s Bagel Bakery in CT. His last career job and favorite was with Ateeco, Inc. (Mrs. T’s Pierogies) where he was Vice-President of Sales for almost 30 years. Ron was hired by Mrs. T’s to make it a national company which he saw to fruition. Outside of work Ron was a Deacon at Highland and enjoyed being a member of the Waco North West Gideon Camp.
Ron was a heart transplant recipient in 2014 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas. The family is extremely grateful to the doctors who took a chance approving Ron for the transplant. It gave him nearly 10 years to enjoy his family and to welcome a fourth grandchild into his life. We would be remiss to not mention the tenacity of Dr. Charles Shoultz, III, of Waco, in diagnosing the disease that destroyed Ron’s heart. (Cardiac Amyloidosis). Thank you to all the doctors who were used by God to extend his life. We are grateful that God blessed us with so much more time with him.
Ron, had a passion for life, Jesus, his Savior, and his family. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his positive outlook on life no matter what he was going through personally. His deep faith in God and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ never faltered through all the trials and tribulations; in fact it was strengthened. He wanted those in his life to be encouraged by God’s goodness and faithfulness to him.
