Ronald Sherry

Ronald Lewis Sherry, age 71, passed away at his residence Wednesday February 16, 2011. “Celebration of Life” Services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, February 21, 2011 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Barry Camp officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Ron, the youngest of 3 children was born March 22, 1939 in Waco, Texas to Earl and Louise Sherry. He graduated from University High School in 1957. He married and raised three wonderful children.
During his High School years and upon graduation Ron worked at Royal Pharmacy. He began his career at Cameron Wholesale and after several years continued his career at Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church where he loved devoting his time and cooking skills as the chef for the Christian Men’s Fellowship Ministry. Ron moved to the Metroplex area for some time where he enjoyed working as a Real Estate Agent with Ebby Halliday Realtors. He returned to Waco and joined his son and daughter at the Triliji Group real estate company where he retired in 2009.

In his younger years he was an avid roller skater and enjoyed spending time at Pittman’s and T’s Skating Rinks. Later in life, his passion was to “antique”, turning trash into treasure as his hobby.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Edward Sherry.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Lisa Monroe and her husband David of Waco, Micha Zammit and her husband Kenneth of Kingwood; son, Timothy Sherry of Waco; one sister Earline Johnson; four grandchildren Corban and Callan Monroe and Lauren and Austin Zammit.
Ron was a loving father, grandfather and inspiration of happiness to all who knew him. He never met a stranger – as everyone became his friend.
