Ronald Garner

July 29, 1954 — April 9, 2016


Ronald Alan Garner was a Good and Faithful Servant. He finished his race and went home be in the presence of God on April 9, 2016 when he was 61 years young. A celebration of his life will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00pm. Please dress casual and come celebrate with us as we remember his encouraging walk and faithful service of 40 years.

Born in Germany, on July 29, 1954, Ron was adopted at the age of five by Roger and Joyce Garner. He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters in IT. Then went on to graduate from Liberty University with a Masters in Divinity. He was 22 years old when he came to know Jesus as his personal savior. He served in the USAF for 10 years as a motion picture camera man. He was the lead singer in a Christian Band while also playing piano and guitar. He produced a Christian Radio show called "Into the Light" all while raising 4 beautiful kids. Joanne, Joseph, Jennifer and Jessica with his first wife of 25 years Julie Garner. While on earth he Pastored 3 churches, (Fontana Faith Fellowship - For Whosoever Will - West Robinson). Afterwards he took on a different roll as Pastor/Parent/Mentor to over 2000 kids and adults in children's homes. From Arizona, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Mexico, California, Mississippi to ending in Texas. His heart was to share Jesus with everyone around him. He met his wife Brenda online, Ron was trying to share Jesus with Brenda while Brenda was trying to share Jesus with Ron. They found out they both knew Jesus while trying to lead each other with the same gospel. When Brenda met Ron for the first time she said "You Wear Jesus Well." He said "that's the nicest compliment I have ever been paid. We should make that a t-shirt," so they did. They were married 6 months later August 31, 2007. Then they began their ministry together. From homeless ministries, t-shirts, books, churches, jail ministry, to a new app called "StoreUpYourTreasures." They were so in love with each other because they were both in love with God first. Ron loved to learn, he turned in his last paper to complete his degree the night before he passed away. What a graduation celebration they must be having in heaven

He was proceeded in death by his dad, and brother Michael.

Ron went on to continue to serve in Heaven. He left behind his wife of 9 years Brenda Garner. His parents Joyce and Harlous Wilson. His Children JoAnna Landazuri (His Favorite) and her husband Edgar. Joseph Garner (His Favorite) and his wife Amy. Jennifer Hicks (His Favorite) and her husband Casey. Jessica Ortiz (His Favorite) and her husband Hector. Michelle Afinow (His Favorite) and her fiancé Nathanael. Michael Afinow (His Favorite) and his wife Ashley. He had 9 grandchildren; Ashley, Cyrus, Allison, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Gia, Cody, Johnathan, and Averly. Siblings Sandy, Karin, Beverly, Vicki, Greg, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was blessed to have so many around that loved him, to know Ron was to love him. Committed to serve when Ron answered God's call, he proved it by being a servant to all.
