Ronald (Ron) Wayne Freeman went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on August 13th, 2022. He passed away peacefully at 81 years of age and had lived in Waco, Texas, all his life. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, August 18, 2022, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Rhodes officiating. The service will be lived streamed on Ronald’s page at www.gracegardensfh.com
Ron was born to Edward Lewis Freeman and Lois (Wyonia) Freeman on February 12th, 1941, and was the oldest of his three brothers: Norman, Danny, and Jerry Don.
Ron grew up in Waco and attended Baylor University, where he received his degree in Business in 1974. Ron worked his entire 50+ year career at Gulf States Paper Company and its affiliates. Ron served his country by being in the National Guard for 12 years. Ron loved to fish and hunt and tell lots of fish stories. Ron also loved to travel the world with Cindy and their friends. Ron was a gentle giant and Christian man who lived out his faith quietly, serving and sacrificing for his family and friends in practical and meaningful ways.
Ron had just celebrated his 27th anniversary with Cindy Freeman on August 12th. Cindy was an ever-present and caring wife to Ron. Cindy never left his side during his illness and provided him with constant love, care, and support.
Ron was preceded in his death by his parents, Edward Lewis Freeman and Lois (Wyonia) Freeman, and his brothers Norman Freeman and Danny Freeman.
Ron is survived by his wife, Cindy Freeman. Ron is survived by first wife, Pat (Miller) Freeman and their children together: his son, Scott Freeman of Buda, TX, and his daughter, Staci Reichmanis and her husband Scott of Cedar Park, TX. He is survived by his stepson Matt Schachle and his wife Kristi Moreno of Pflugerville, TX. He is survived by his grandchildren, Kelsey Reichmanis, Braeden Reichmanis, and John Moreno. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Don Freeman.
Ron deeply loved his extended family, including the Josts, Kerns, and the Grangers.
