Ronald Dansby

Ronald Daniel Dansby of Woodway was born January 14, 1944 to Evesta Kelly (Skeet) Dansby and Charles Edward (CE) Dansby, Jr. in Meridian, Texas.

He lived in the Valley Mills area where he was a member of First Baptist Church and graduated from Valley Mills High School. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1964 and served at Hill AFB, Utah and Vietnam. After attending TSTC and receiving the degree of Master Plumber he worked in air conditioning and refrigeration for Jacobs Cathey Air Conditioning at Fort Hood Army Base. In 1978 he began his career with the General Services Administration and became building manager for the VA Regional Office in Waco. He retired in 1998 and soon worked part time for Sierra Grande, Waco ISD, and Bullet Delivery Service. He retired again in 2006. He was a member of Texas AMVETS Chapter and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ronnie was a gardener, fisherman, and hunter. He will be most remembered by friends, family, and neighbors for his giving nature, patience, and helpfulness to others. He shared his talent and expertise for construction and repair and became the resident expert for home, electrical, and automotive advice..

He is survived by his wife, Carol Dansby, daughter Debbie and Greg Fariss of Salado; son Stephen and Tiffany Dansby of Waco and twin brother Donnie and Connie Dansby of Brentwood, Tennessee. He leaves four grandchildren, Chelsie and Daniel Dansby of Waco, and Hailey and Paige Fariss of Salado. Other devoted family members and friends include Charlotte Petty, sisters-in law Sue and Johnny Timmons of Seabrook, Cherrie and Rick Mitchell of Pearland, Lynnette and Jim Jones of Waco, Frankie Mills of Waco, Ronnie Gauer and Julie Creager of Valley Mills, stepsister, Gail Ringness of Denison, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers are: Nephews: Charles Dansby, Wiley Timmons, Sr., Johnny Timmons Jr., Rickey Mitchell, Alan Mitchell, and Jim Jones

Memorials may be made to Cogdell United Methodist Church, 1201 West Hwy 6, Waco, Texas 76710 or Valley Mills Cemetery Association.
