Rodney Byron Barnett, a beloved Brother and Friend, passed away on February 8, 2025, at Baylor, Scott, & White - Hillcrest. Born on July 28, 1967, Rodney’s early years were filled with curiosity and a passion for fishing and music.
Rodney was dedicated to his career at Clayton Homes, Rodney consistently strived to make a positive impact on those around him. His kindness, humor, generosity, and the countless memories he created with family and friends will forever be cherished. Rodney’s presence brought warmth and laughter, and his absence leaves an indelible void.
Surviving him are his brother Wesley Barnett and his family in Austin, Texas; his sister Keitha Barnett and family in Childress, Texas; his aunt Arlyna Stewart in Corvallis, Oregon; his longtime girlfriend, Amanda Hasley, of Hewitt, Texas; and a host of dear friends who deeply loved him. Rodney is now reunited with his mother, Lynza Barnett; his father, James Barnett; his grandparents, Arthur and Lynch Carradine; and his grandparents, J.W. Barnett and Ellen Barnett, in eternal peace.
A celebration of Rodney’s life is pending and will be held online at a later date, allowing friends and loved ones to gather and honor his memory while sharing the stories that made him so special.
