Robert Bruce Winston has slipped the surly bonds of this earth on April 24, 2016. A Memorial service with full military honors will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Killeen, Texas.
Robert was born February 12, 1928 in College Station, Texas. He grew up in Groesbeck, Texas and later moved to California. He graduated from Pasadena Jr. College and enlisted in the military. He served 20 years, retiring in 1968. Robert owned a Flying Service in Smithville, Texas for almost 15 years. He retired again in 1986, moving to Waco.
Robert married Pauline Hatcher Winston on October 17, 1951 and they had five children. During his time in the military, he served in Japan, Germany, Alaska, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, and Vietnam. After his retirement, he enjoyed membership in the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine. He served as Master of Eddy Lodge, Eddy, Texas in 2010.
Robert joins his beloved wife of 63 years, Pauline, in heaven. They are survived by their five children: Robert B. Winston and wife, Carol of Allen; Paula and husband, David Hudgins of Waxahachie; Donald Winston and wife, Alexandria of Round Rock; Frank Winston and wife, Jane of Sugar Land; and Jane Ruggiero of Waco, Texas. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Mandi and Jennifer Hudgins; two grandsons, Joe and Max Ruggiero; two great grandsons, Aiden and Ethan Hudgins; and two step grandchildren, Claire and Ham Reed
