Robert "Pete" Swain, 66, of Lorena, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Houston. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with John Farrar officiating. Burial to follow at Lorena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Pete was born in November 15, 1946 in Levelland, TX to Jack and Grace Swain. He grew up and graduated from Levelland. He married Kaye Motl on February 26, 1966 in Anton, TX and in 1972, they moved to Waco. Shortly after moving to Waco, Pete started work at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant and retired in 2006. Pete was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lorena United Methodist Church, was a firefighter with Lorena Volunteer Fire Department, and was District 9 Administrator for Little League. He loved spending time with his grandbabies, coaching baseball, traveling to various casinos, and was an avid Lorena Leopard sports fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Pete is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kaye Swain; daughter, Christy Tadlock; sons, Damon Swain and wife Michelle, and Robert Swain and wife Rockie; grandchildren, Griffen, Greyson and Gattlin Branch, Garrett, Braden, Kinley and Jacob Swain, and Kally Swain; brother, Frank Swain and wife Nancy; sister, Doris Jean and husband Jimmy Wheeler; and his beloved cat and companion, Tiger G.
