Robert Lynn Rinewalt of Hewitt passed peacefully August 16,2022 with his daughter, Elizabeth, by his side. The family will have a celebration of life service, Sunday, August 28, 2022 at their home.

Robert was born October 26, 1949 and grew up in Waco. He attended University High School. After graduating, Robert joined the US Navy, served his country for two tours, 1968-1971, and was a proud Vietnam veteran. While serving in the Navy he was a member of naval special forces and reconnaissance, participating in clandestine raids into Laos and Cambodia. He was based off the USS Southerland and swift boat 113. He received the purple heart with clusters, bronze star and a Presidential Unit Citation among other decorations.

After returning home from the Navy, Robert started his 25 year career as a Union Sheet Metal Iron Worker, where he was a member of Local 67. The last ten years of his career he was a co-owner of R+R Fabricators and Erectors.

In 1970, Robert married Mary Ann Glaze, they were married 30 years and lived in Lorena raising their two girls Kristi & Elizabeth. He later married Charlene Burleson in 2000, and the couple lived in Brownwood until her passing.

Robert enjoyed fishing in his down time and loved watching the Baylor Bears.  He faithfully stopped by Harris Creek II for coffee and breakfast with the other regulars. Robert was an armchair politician and kept up with MSNBC. His grandchildren lovingly knew him as "Poppie".

Preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Melba Rinewalt; wife, Charlene Rinewalt; daughter, Kristi Lynn Fuller and her husband Adam; sister-in-law, Glenda Dill.

Survivors include daughter, Elizabeth Fields and husband Brian and their children, Ashlin Fields, Landon Fields and wife Faith and their children, Emily and Waylon; Kristi and Adam’s children, Chandler Fuller, Attison Fuller, Abigale Fuller; sister-in-law, Vicki Sparks and husband Danny and their children, Ashley Hill and Lacey Beaty; nieces, LeAnn Villanuave and husband Jose, and their children, Melissa Dill and children; brother, Larry and wife Janice Rinewalt and their sons, Jason Rinewalt and wife, Teri, Jeff Rinewalt and wife Jalayne and their families; Step Daughter, Debbie Roland and her daughters, Randi, Natalie, and Sarah; his lifelong friend, Dolan Culp, and his furry companion, chuck.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Fresenius Kidney Care Waco West and Ridgecrest Retirement Center for their loving care of Robert.
His honorary pallbearers will be all those who fought and died In Vietnam “Forever Together”.
