Robert Owles

Robert Edward Owles Jr. age 65, of Waco passed away Tuesday February 14, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be 10AM Friday February 17, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Menke officiating. Interment will follow at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors observed. Visitation will be 6 to 7PM Thursday February 16, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Robert was born on July 31, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Owles, Sr. He proudly served and retired from the US Army as a Sergeant Major after 23 years. After retirement, Bob continued working in the security field as the Director of Security at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. After a second retirement, Bob and Rose Mary relocated to Waco, Texas to enjoy spending time with friends, family, and beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed working with the local community and the Midway School District as a part time substitute teacher. A lifelong learner, Bob enjoyed reading, studying, and teaching others.

He was preceded by his father Robert Owles, stepfather Byron Adams, and his son, Craig Owles.

Robert is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Owles, by daughter Vicky Owles, son Robert Owles, III, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Brian Becker, Kathy Campolli, Alan and Cindy Johnston, and Mike and Connie Johnston. His beloved grandchildren, Brittany, Meagan, Blake, and McKenna Becker; Ashley and Kaylan Johnston; Brittany, Katy, Kory, Sierra, and Robert IV Owles.
