Robert McMahan

March 2, 1944 — March 23, 2025

Robert Alvin McMahan (81) of Bruceville, was carried on the wings of angels, entered the gates of the Lord with great thanksgiving, and entered the court of the Lord with praise Sunday, March 23, 2025 surrounded by love, light and his adoring family. Celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, at Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Jason Morris officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Robert was born on March 2, 1944, in Aquilla, Texas the son of Robert Aubrey and Laura (Wright) McMahan. He attended South Jr. High and University High School. He worked for Dr. Pepper and Lonestar Beer Company in his early working years. He met and married the love of his life, Robbie Jo Roark, in 1969 and then spent 30 years working in the mobile home industry. His last 15 years of work were spent driving a dump truck for Knife River in Waco where he was lovingly known to all as Tiny. Robert was a wonderful, faithful and hard-working provider for his family who may not of had all they wanted but always had what they needed.

Robert had a love for racing cars that he shared with his brother Sammy. He was a member of the Nomad Car Club in the late 1950’s racing his ‘50 model Ford, ’62 Chevy Impala and his ’69 RT Charger at Little River.

Preceding Robert in death was his parents, Robert and Laura, and his beloved baby brother Michael Roy McMahan.

Left to cherish his irreplaceable memory is his wife of 56 proud, wonderful years, Robbie Jo McMahan of Bruceville, Texas; his daughter, Tracie Jackson and husband Donis of Waco, Texas; son, Robert Jason McMahan and wife LeighAnn of Waco, Texas; step-son, Melford Seawright; and grandson/beloved son, Cody Kerns of Bruceville, Texas. He is also survived by his loving brother and best-friend, Sammy McMahan and wife Patti of Robinson, Texas and sister Diane Johnson and husband Jim of Arvada, Colorado. He is also survived by 7 beloved grandchildren, Justin Kerns and Sabrina Jackson; Thea McMahan, Jeffrey King, Grant King, Price Sanders and Zoe Sanders; and by his precious great-grandchildren, Mariah Nicole Kerns; Jaliyah Jo Anglin and Journey Jay Anglin; and due in September, Rohan William Leighton Sanders, also left to cherish his memory is his dog, Cookie. 

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to Pam and Sayria from Providence Hospice who took excellent care of Robert during his final days with exhaustive dignity and love.

Pallbearers will be Robert Jason McMahan, Cody Kerns, Donis Jackson, Kevin Roark, Aaron McMahan, and Roy Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Kerns and Nike Powell.

Robert’s passing will leave an unfillable hole in the McMahan family. He was a loyal brother, faithful husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family meant everything to him. Even in his last days, Robert brought his family together in love and support and the strength and bond of family will be his lasting legacy.
