Robert McGough

Robert Jackson McGough, 71, of McGregor, Texas, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 in Temple. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM, at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas under the direction of Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service.

Robert was born March 1, 1945 in Laredo, Texas to the late Darries Jackson McGough and Margaret Boatman McGough. He married Carolyn Huffstickler on September 20, 1970 in Louisiana. He was a much loved husband, daddy, and Poppi to his family.

During his life, Bob played football for Stockard Junior High in Dallas, where he got the opportunity to play in the Cotton Bowl. He later played for Abilene High School. After high school, he enlisted with the U.S. Air Force where his tours of duty included France and England. He later went on to preach the Good News as an Evangelist in Louisiana and Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, D.J.; brother, Floyd; and sisters, Elizabeth McGough and Sandra Kelley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn of McGregor; sons, Richey and wife Melissa of Waco, Casey and wife Melonie of Waco, and Cody and wife Shelley of Georgetown; daughter, Courtnie McGough of McGregor; mother, Margaret McGough of Abilene; sisters, Gloria Hill and husband Grady of Terrell and Karen Chapman of Abilene; grandchildren, Taylor, Whitney, Morgan, Ethan, Gianna, and Ginger.
