Robert Maxey

Robert Conrad Maxey, 67, of McGregor, passed away Thursday March 12, 2015. A visitation with family and friends will be 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive. Graveside services will be held at City of Lubbock Cemetery on Saturday March 21st at 11:00 am in Lubbock, TX with the Rev. Keith Wiseman officiating.

Conrad was born on June 6, 1947 to Robert and Kathleen Maxey. He was a true free spirit. Anyone that had any contact with Conrad never forgot him. He married Susan Reynolds in 1968, the love of his life for 46 years. He was a graduate of Southern Methodist University in 1968 and began a successful career in the manufactured housing industry. He retired in 2006 enjoying his grandchildren, boating and fishing. Conrad will be remembered for his huge heart, his tremendous kindness, his boisterous laugh, and his wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert E Maxey.

Conrad is survived by his mother, Kathleen Maxey Luther of Lubbock; his wife, Susan Maxey of McGregor; his two children, Amy Williams and husband, Kyle, of Lorena, and David Maxey and wife, Elizabeth, of McGregor; and six grandchildren, Grace Davis, Luke Davis, Adam Bowling, Cole Bowling, Cannon Maxey, and Aspen Maxey; and his sister, Marcia Maxey Abbott of Lubbock.

The Maxey family would like to personally thank Dr. Schwedock and the staff at Providence Hospice for their tender care and compassion for Conrad during his stay.
