Ripley Smithwick

Biography

Ripley Wayne Smithwick went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2011 at the age of 68 at his home in Crawford, Texas. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco, with Chaplain Gene Smithwick officiating.

Ripley was born March 3, 1943 in Galveston, Texas. His parents were Ripley Brown Smithwick and Edna Thenia Smithwick. He was married on May 30, 1964 in Los Angeles, California to Joy Lajune Parker. He was a veteran of the United States Navy; he retired after nineteen years with the Los Angeles Police Department.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ripley Smithwick; mother, Edna Smithwick; brother, Ronald Smithwick; mother in law, June Tuttle; and niece, Rhonda Neuenschwander.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Lajune Smithwick; his brother, Denny Smithwick and wife Jan of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Gene Smithwick and wife Carolyn of Weatherford, Texas; sister in law, Relda Smithwick of Irving, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and several God children.
