Rieta Mae Doty

September 1, 1947 — January 14, 2025

Woodway, Texas

Rieta Mae Doty passed away at home, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. A Memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Trinity at Badger Ranch beginning at 11 am with Pastor Kevin Lentz officiating. A time of visitation will precede the service at 10am and a luncheon will follow the service.

Rieta Mae (Record) Doty was born in Cleburne, Texas on September 1, 1947, to Junie Mae (Worlow) and Robert Wayne Record. She was the oldest of three daughters.

On August 30, 1969, Rieta married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Doty in Fort Worth, Texas. Rieta and Bob shared 55 amazing years creating lifelong memories, serving the Lord and raising their two sons Tim and Todd. Rieta took great pride in being the best mother and homemaker she could be to her family. Affectionately called “Oma” by her grandchildren, she will forever be remembered for giving the best hugs and being the light of happiness in every room she entered.

Rieta would regularly walk 7 miles a day for exercise, was a great country and western dancer, and enjoyed playing Words with Friends and Scrabble. Rieta was also very involved in her church work: being a member of Trinity at Badger Ranch for many years, she helped facilitate many blood drives, was a charter member for the church’s prayer team and served the church in countless other ways to help spread the word of God.

Left to cherish Rieta’s memory are her loving and devoted husband Bob, her son Tim and his wife Diane, her son Todd, her grandchildren: Gracie, Isaac and Oliver, and her two sisters Linda Amsbary and Cathy Brown. She has a large extended family along with close friends from all over the world who will miss her dearly.

Greeting Rieta in Heaven are her loving parents Robert Wayne and Junie Mae Record.

The family would like to extend their love, thankfulness and gratitude to Pastor Kevin Lentz for his care, support and comfort through Rieta’s illness. They also wish to thank Interim Healthcare Hospice and the Visiting Angels of Waco for the way in which they cared for Rieta. And finally, there are many family members, friends and neighbors who reached out with very thoughtful words of encouragement and support during this difficult time.
