A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Brother Roy Marshall officiating, followed by an inurnment at Oakwood Cemetery including naval military honors.
Our dear husband, dad, and grandfather left us to join his mother, Sally Mae Burns, his pop, William Jess Ramsey, and son, Richard Jerrell (Jerry) Ramsey, Jr. to be with our Heavenly Father. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas where he graduated high school in 1947. Jerrell served in the Navy for 2 years during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS San Pablo. He moved to Corpus Christi in the mid 1950’s where he began his career at Texas Farm Bureau. He married Beverly Reeves in 1960. They had 4 children. He was transferred, and moved with his family to Waco, TX in 1974 where he retired in 1990.
He was an avid golfer, and played in the local senior league all over Waco. He was very fortunate to have played golf all over the world, but his most beloved course was the Old Course, St. Andrews, Scotland, and was privileged to have played it two times, and attended The (British) Open three different times at Muirfield, Carnoustie, and St. Andrews, Scotland. He will now enjoy many more rounds of his favorite game with his golf buddies who were waiting for him in heaven.
He and his wife, Beverly were grateful to have traveled the world together. They made many memories.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family for whom he shared great affection.
Jerrell leaves behind to cherish his memories Beverly, his wife of nearly 58 years; daughters, Debra and John Harrell of Tomball, and Diane and Butch Highfill of Hewitt; son, Paul Ramsey of Waco; seven grandchildren and their partners; three great grandchildren, his beloved dog, Trace, and many sisters and brothers in law and their families.
The family would like to thank Dr. Davis and all of the nurses in the 4 East tower at Providence Hospital. Memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
