Richard Durbin

Richard L. Durbin age 74, of Waco passed away on Monday February 18, 2013 at his home. Memorial Services will be 10AM Saturday February 23, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
Richard was born on January 23, 1939 in Stockton, California to Willard and Mary Durbin. He graduated from Laurelwood Academy. He then went to Walla Walla University. He was a medical technologist for Hillcrest Hospital for over 30 years. He married Laura Knight on January 1st, 1992. Richard had a love for the coast, especially the Gulf of Mexico where he vacationed every chance he could. Once while visiting the coast in Galveston, Richard noticed a seagull tangled in some fishing line and knowing he was probably going to get bit, decided to try and free the gull anyway, and sure enough that’s the thanks he got but the bird was freed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Virginia Evans.
Richard is survived by his wife Laura of 21 years; two brothers Bill Durbin and Bob Durbin; a son Richard R. Durbin and wife Haemi; a daughter Shelly Snyder and son Robert W; a daughter Susan Westall and husband Larry; a son Thomas F. Knight and wife Michelle and son Mark A. Knight; 13 Grandchildren Kelsey, Timothy, Jessica, Daren, Jordan, Larry III, Madeline, Laura, Richy, Willy, Dawson, Tommy and Harley.
