McGregor, Texas

Rebecca Louise Hadley, affectionately known as Becky, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, in Waco, Texas, under the compassionate care of Providence Hospice. She was born on August 11, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, and her journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and dedication to family.  In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.

Becky devoted decades of her life to the food service industry, becoming a well-known figure in her town. In 1975, she opened the McGregor Dairy Queen, creating a beloved gathering place for friends, family and community. A life of service led her to Westview Manor Nursing Home, from which she retired in 2004, leaving behind a legacy of service and commitment.

Throughout her life, Becky was not only a dedicated professional but also a cherished family member and friend. Her love for playing slot machines in casinos brought her joy, as did the time spent with her family. Holidays were particularly special for Becky, as she relished the opportunity to create memories and connect with those she held dear. Known as the strength of the family, she was the backbone that supported her loved ones through thick and thin.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Debbie Pierce and her husband Charles, Ken Eastwood and his wife Connie, David Hadley, Regina Wollard, and Ryan Hadley. Becky is also survived by her sister, Julie Cortez Grzywinski, and her grandchildren: Angie Arp and her husband Jay, Becky Gonzalez and her husband Robert, Amanda Coffer and her husband Steven, Michael Eastwood, David Hadley, Jr., Amber Reid and her husband Dalton, Jimmy Wollard, and Ashley Wollard. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her 13 great-grandchildren, who brought her joy. Also left behind are her beloved pets, Sissy, Pookie, and Sweetie

Becky now joins her beloved mother, Juliet Cortez, her father, Alfonso Cortez, and her brothers Al Cortez, Edward Cortez, and Michael Cortez, as well as her former husband, John Hadley, in eternal rest. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.

A special thank you to Providence Hospital, Providence Heart Clinic, and Dr. Rodney Brown for their compassion and care for Becky. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Fuzzy Friends or St. Judes Hospital.
