Raymond Terrill King

Raymond Terrill King, 77, of Hewitt, TX, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Waco,TX. Terrill was born on January 6,1947, at Fort Lewis, Washington, to Raymond F. King and Greta Traylor King.

He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Tx in 1966 and attended St. Mary’s University.

On January 3, 1981, he married Esther Cummings at Greenview Christian Church in Greenview, IL. She preceded him in death in 2017.

Also preceding his death were his father and mother, his sister Charlotte King, his step-father Oliver Lamb, and half-sister Ana Lisa Lamb. Surviving him are his half-brother Kelly Lamb,cousin Betti Ann (Mike) Wright, brother-in-law Richard (Cheryl) Cummings, sister-in-law Clara (Roger)Walker, nieces Andrea Williams and Alicia (Tim) Villa, and nephew Mack (Dennisa) Walker. He is also survived by two great nieces and a great nephew.

Terrill was a state trooper with the Illinois State Police for ten years before he returned to Texas in 1981, where he finished his career and retired after 26 years of service in 2007 as a lieutenant with the Texas Dept of Public Safety.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, IL where he will be interred beside his wife Esther.
