Ray Newsom passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Micheal Moore officiating. A visitation will be from 5-7 on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Ray Newsom was born on Oct. 1, 1926 to John Fred and Letha Wren Newsom in Littlefield, TX . He Served our country in the Army during WWII. He Graduated from Texas A&M College in 1948 as an electrical engineer. Soon after that he married Opal Van Stavern in 1949, they were married for 40 years until her passing in 1989. He then married Sue Sandifer Elick in 1990 until her passing in 2007. He traveled the world as an engineer designing many different kinds of manufacturing plants. Ray officially retired and hung up his engineering cleats in 2014 at the age of 88. In retirement he honed his “Texas 42” skills by playing the game several times a week with a fantastic group of other “Texas 42” enthusiast. He enjoyed going to Baylor Lady Bears basketball and various other sporting events. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Robinson. He touched the lives of many along his way. Family members, friends and business associates will all have their own special memories of him.

He is survived by, his two sons; Neil Newsom and wife Sandy, Len Newsom and wife Sara, two step daughters; Lori Ellis and husband Mike, Lisa Collins and husband Johnny, his sister; Joyce Robnett, his six grandchildren; Gena Morrison and husband Roy, Kenneth Newsom, JD Newsom and wife Laura, Marianne Newsom, Shane Ellis , Josh and Megan Collins, and three great grandchildren; Megan, Paige, and Sadie Morrison.
