Rachel Caroline (Romero) Gonzales

Rachel, 61, of Waco, passed away on January 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Wearing a mask and social distancing will be required at the funeral home.

Rachel was born October 2, 1959 in Waco, TX to Richard Romero and Margaret Romero. Growing up in Waco, she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Reicher Catholic High School and graduated from University High School in 1978. After graduation she attended McLennan Community College and received her associate’s degree in general studies.

Rachel was employed at the United States Postal Service for 35 years after retiring in 2015. She enjoyed family gatherings, loved attending her grandchildren, nieces and nephews sporting events. She enjoyed watching football and baseball and had the opportunity to travel the world.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Medardo and Dolores Rivera, her brother Andrew Romero, and her niece Ashley Romero. Survivors include her daughter Kristina Dolezal, son in law Chad Dolezal, and grandchildren Jillian and Macen Dolezal, her parents Richard Romero and Margaret Romero, her siblings Edward Romero, Irma Gooch, and Esteban Romero along with many nieces and nephews that she adored. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Hospice and Waco Lung Associates for their care.
