Phillip Ray Weaver

July 22, 1945 — January 12, 2025

Waco, Texas

Phillip Ray Weaver was born to Harry and JoElla Weaver July 22, 1945 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and passed away on January 12, 2025.

Phil, the youngest of three, grew up and attended school in Chickasha. After high school graduation, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he met his bride, Lavonne Kay Cartwright. Phil and Kay were married March 25, 1967 and he graduated in May of 1967. The couple made their home in Yukon, Oklahoma shortly after Phil’s graduation. While living there, they became parents of a daughter. They moved their family to Muskogee for Phil to take a new job. While living there, they welcomed their son.

Phil and Kay, with their two children, moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1975 where he worked for 3M company before starting Southwest Radiator in 1981. Phil retired and sold his business in 2013

No matter where Phil lived, he was active in his church teaching Sunday School and serving as a deacon. Phil shared what Jesus had done for him with people at church or with strangers in his work. He wanted other’s to know Jesus as their savior too.

Phil enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, working in his yard and being active. One of his biggest joys was being with his family. Ski trips as his children grew up, golfing with his son, grandsons, and buddies, or just gathering to eat homemade ice cream were some of the times Phil enjoyed the most.

God blessed Phil with three grandsons that he treasured. When Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he said he hoped he would be able to see his first great-grandchild; he was able to meet two great-grandsons who bought smiles and joy to Phil.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Harriet, and his brother, Charles. He is survived by his wife, Kay, of 57 years; his daughter, Kimberly Hacker, and her husband, Randy, of Waco; his son, Kevin, and his wife, Jennifer, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; grandsons, Preston Hacker and wife, Brianna, of Waco, Peyton Hacker and wife, Kate, of Waco, Gabe Weaver of Ft. Collins, CO; great-grandsons, Bennett and Hudson Hacker; as well as nieces and nephews.
