Peter Anderson

Peter Kenneth Anderson of Waco, Texas passed away at his home on November 19, 2011. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, and a memorial service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

Peter was born on February 16, 1938 in Colfax, Wisconsin. He was confirmed and later ordained into the ministry at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanley, Wisconsin. He graduated high school in Stanley and went on to graduate from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and Lutheran-Northwestern Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. For 45 years, Pastor Anderson served Evangelical Lutheran Church of America parishes’ in Wisconsin, Iowa and Texas. His mission was to encourage all people to proclaim, and to be, the grace of God.

Peter is survived by his wife, Terryl Friberg, whom he married On June 4, 1966. He is also survived by: his son, Jed Peter Anderson and wife Jill and grandsons Elijah, Jonah, and Micah of Kingwood, Texas; his daughter Siri Kirstin Davenport and grandsons Seth and Jared of Damascus, Virginia; sisters Elaine and brother in law Ken Klund of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Imogene and brother in law John Reppe of Two Harbors, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephew.

Peter is preceded in death by his son in law Jon Davenport and his brother Joe Anderson.
