Paxton Chaney

Paxton Lehi Chaney, Sr. was called home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. A time of visitation with family and friends will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Paxton was born in Temple, Texas on August 29, 1985, to Phil and Gayla Chaney. Paxton excelled in school and at the age of 15 started college at Lamar University, graduating a few years later at the age of 19.

On August 31, 2009, Paxton married the love of his life and best friend Alicia and together they raised 3 boys, Paxton Lehi, Jr., Barrett and Emric Chaney as well as a step- son Caleb Sawyer. He was a devoted father, loving, patient and kind. He enjoyed every minute with his boys especially Bible story time before bed. 

Paxton attended Harris Creek Baptist Church with his family, his passion for coffee led him to becoming well known in the McGregor and Crawford communities for owning and being roast master of Chaney Brothers Coffee Shop.

Paxton is survived by Alicia and his sons; parents, Phil and Gayla Chaney; his 2 brothers, Paul and wife Hilary Chaney and Phillip and wife Olga Chaney; brother-in-law, Jeff Sisson and wife Miranda; mother-in-law Donna Hernandez and her husband and Father-in-law James Sisson and his wife. Paxton also leaves behind several loving aunts and uncles as well as several nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished very much. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
