Paul Steven Fox, 63, of McGregor, passed away on September 27th, 2023. A visitation will be from 10-11 am, followed by a celebration of life from 11-12pm, Friday, October 6th, 2023, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will occur at a later date with family.
Paul was born March 7, 1960, in Hastings, Minnesota, to Richard and Gladys Fox. Growing up in Hastings, he enjoyed ice skating, gopher hunting, and playing sports.
In 1970, the Fox family relocated to McGregor, Texas, where Paul’s dad, Richard oversaw the establishment of Smead Manufacturing. Paul graduated from McGregor High in 1978, where he ran track, played football, basketball, golf, and excelled in academics. Following high school, Paul went to play college football at New Mexico Military Institute and Fort Hays State University. Afterwards, he returned to McGregor to begin working at Smead, where he worked for over 30 years.
During these years, he met and married Lila Lee Williams, on May 28, 1983. In their love, they had three beautiful daughters, Meaghan, Paige, and Krista. In his adult years, he dedicated his time, love and support to the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department and St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, including often spending hours crafting his incredible barbecue and beans for fundraisers and helping with church events.
Paul loved good music, “shakin’ and bakin’,” cruising in his truck with his dog, Callie, and visiting with friends and family. He had a heart of gold, cared deeply for so many, and would do anything for anyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gladys Fox. He is survived by the love of his life, Lila Lee Fox, daughters Meaghan Hafer and husband, Zachary, Paige Vincent and husband, Benjamin, and Krista Rush and husband, Ryan; granddaughters Amberlee Ryan, Ava Faye, Lila Grace, and Alaina Kay; sisters Gretchen Krupicka and husband Randy, Karen Tucker and husband Troy, brother Tony Fox and wife Vicki; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Grace Gardens Funeral Home for their gracious support and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of your choosing.
