Patsy Adams

Patsy Adams, age 82, of Waco passed away peacefully on March 30, 2013 at a local rehab facility. Funeral Services will be 10AM Wednesday April 3, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Patsy was born on August 18, 1930 in Mulberry, Arkansas to the late Winston and Lula James. She grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Mulberry High School in 1947. She married Jack Adams on December 10, 1950. Jack and Patsy settled in Waco in 1962. She was a homemaker for many years and later worked at Columbus Avenue Baptist Daycare. She was a lifelong member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught first grade Sunday school for nearly 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, of 59 years.

Patsy is survived by her three daughters, Jackie Sharber, Elizabeth Garrett and husband Todd, Patti Pursley and husband David; five grandsons, Daniel Ochoa and wife Stephanie, Wesley Young and wife Nicole, Christopher Ochoa and wife Brittany, Tony Young and wife Brenda, all of Waco, and Kyle Sharber of Huffman, Texas; ten great grandchildren, Chloe, Tristan, Xander and Jackson, Jack, Abigail and Layden; Evan, Tyler and Dawson, all of Waco, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Ruby Weatherl of Arkansas; Brother and Sister-in-law, E.J and Sue Sellers of Oklahoma; Brother-in-law, Kenneth Adams of Arizona and Brother-in-law, Tom Adams of Missouri.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

A special thanks to caregiver, Mary Mitchell, a Godsend to the family, who loved Patsy like her own Mother.

Patsy’s family would also like to thank Dr. James Graham, Dr. Mark Schwartze and the staff at St. Catherine’s Rehab Facility.
