Patricia Goolsby

Patricia Sue Goolsby, 77, of Waco passed away April 8, 2015 at home with her beloved family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Grace Gardens.
"Pat" was born August 16, 1937 to Brig. Gen. George L. and Edith Shoemaker of Des Moines , Iowa. After graduating from Johnston High School in Des Moines, Pat completed her education at Stephens College for Women in Columbia, Missouri. While attending college she met Sam Goolsby from the University of Missouri. They were married at Drake University Campus Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa September 6, 1958. After their marriage, she and Sam relocated to Waco where Sam would be employed by Southwest Chemical. Over the years, they lived in Louisiana, Houston, and Kansas City, Missouri before returning to Waco in 1976, to make their permanent home.
Pat was a woman who loved life, friends, and her family. She was a talented designer who designed and made beautiful clothes. She enjoyed watching and cheering for the Baylor Lady Bears basketball team. She was particularly fond of the women in their Woodway neighborhood and the "Thursday Lunch Bunch". Pat had many interests but above all else, she loved her family and had unconditional love of Mimi's grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years, Sam; sons, Mark and his wife, Kimberly, and Sean and his wife, Stefany; and her grandchildren, Brooke, Garrett, Gracyn, and Graham.
The family would like to thank her caregivers and Providence Hospice.
