Pat grew up on the family farm at Prairie Hill, and graduated from Prairie Hill High School in 1952 as valedictorian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Rose Hinson Wallace. She is survived by son Charles and wife Ginger; son David; son Stanley and wife Pam; grandchildren Stephanie and husband Todd Presley, Tommy Adams and wife Kaye, Raymond Adams and wife Sonya, Tara, Joshua, Brian, Abigail , and Adriana Adams; great-grandchildren Adam, Isabella, Eli and Summer Jane Presley, and Matthew , Oliver, Aiden and Ethan Adams; brother Richard Wallace and wife Barbara; and a very large and loving extended family.
Pat married Tom Adams February 14, 1953 and they began their life together in Houston. They moved frequently in the oil drilling business, and Pat established family homes in Salem and Carmi IL, Corpus Christi TX, Houma LA, Calgary, Canada, and London and Gerrards Cross, England, and several times in Houston and Conroe. Tom traveled extensively so Pat nurtured these homes and kept them grounded in love, family values and Christian faith. She also attended numerous corporate and social functions, where her style and charm were admired by all.
Her strength and grace were the cornerstone of Tom’s success in his career and in life. She was a compassionate wife, mother, caregiver, confidante, cheerleader, spiritual leader, and conscience to Tom and their sons. She loved the Lord Jesus and devoted her life to His service. She was an active member of First Baptist Woodway, participating in Sunday School, Bible Study and many other activities; and she was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary, where she was past President of the Waco Camp. Pat shared her faith at every opportunity, including weekly visits to the McLennan County Jail to conduct services, and working to organize and lead delegations to the Hobby Unit of the TDC at Marlin.
The family extends thanks to the nurses at Providence Hospice and St. Catherine’s for their expert and compassionate care for Pat in her last days. We were all very grateful for the many visits, cards, letters, and gifts from friends.
Pat was strong in mind, strong in body, and strong in spirit. She gave tirelessly to others without expecting any return. Pat had the grace to enjoy the best in life and the strength to cope with its challenges, always trusting in Jesus. She will always be remembered for her faith, good cheer, practical wisdom and love for family and friends.
The family requests that any memorials be to The Gideons.
