Pat Kay

Pat Kay age 87, of Waco passed away Saturday December 8, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be 1PM Wednesday December 12, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Denise Rogers and the Reverend Ted Willis officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Pat was born on April 23, 1925 in Powell, Texas to Ellis and Lillie Kay. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Following the war, he graduated from Sam Houston State University. He worked most of his adult life at Marstaller Motors, and in his free time he went camping with his family. In his retirement he enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and visits from his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by Sue Carpenter Kay, his high school sweetheart and wife of 43 years. His grandchildren were present at his second wedding to Hazel Newsom Middleton. They enjoyed a decade together before her passing in 2003. He is also preceded by his sister Ruby Jeanette Kelly, his brother Clayton Kay, and his stepson Derrell Elkins.

Pat is survived by his daughter Priscilla Henry and her husband David, his granddaughter Hillary Burgess and her husband Charlie, his grandson David Henry II, his sister Peg Jensen and her husband John, his stepson Gary Middleton and his wife Brenda, Derrell’s wife Mary Elkins, their children and grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
