Pamela Beazley Benson passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Throughout it all, Pam maintained her faith, humor, and love of family and friends. Pam was born on August 6, 1943, in Newport News, Virginia. After an adventure-filled childhood, her Bachelor of Religious Education from Hardin Simmons University prepared her for a life of service as a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School coordinator, church piano player, and Office Administrator. Her diverse talents propelled a myriad of successful business ventures, including The Mustard Seed Plant Care, custom doll houses, and stunning floral arrangements. She also made heirloom quilts, fundraised for her children’s activities, carefully chronicled her family’s genealogy and her church’s history, and knitted hats for infants in critical care and patients at the Center for Cancer Care in Uvalde.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Bill and Madge Beazley and her youngest child, Virginia Lee Crooks. Her impact will live on in the lives of her closest, surviving family members, including her loving husband, Monty Benson; her son, Mark Crooks and his wife, Louise; her daughter, Amy Warren and her husband, Adam; her beloved grandchildren, Krystal Walker and her husband, Dustin; Evan Crooks, and his wife, Kerra; Ian Warren, and Caroline Warren; her great grandchildren, Ryleigh Walker and Brynlee Walker; her sister, Martha Pinkerton; her brother, Bill Beazley, and his wife, Toddi; her first cousins, Lee May, Jr., David Lee, Dale MacAllister, Phillip May, Steven Lee, Libby Lee Wallace, and Joan Eberly; and her in-laws, Ron and Judy Benson, Jack and Lou Ann Benson, and Jill and David Smith.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to caregivers, Sharon, Kelsey, Stella, Wendy, and Emilie, through The Grandson Home Care and to Kaylee and the rest of the team from Providence Hospice at Community Healthcare of Texas. Their skill and compassion ensured Pam’s final years were comfortable, dignified, and even joyful. They would also like to thank dear friends at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson, and the church family at FBC in Sabinal for their ongoing love and support.
Memorial donations may be made to Treeline Pass, which was founded on behalf of Pam’s granddaughter and her peers with developmental disabilities, or to her church home of 20 years, First Baptist Church in Sabinal.
All are welcome to attend Pam’s funeral service at First Baptist Church in Sabinal, on Tuesday, March 25 at 11:00 A.M. and her graveside service on Wednesday, March 26 at 11:00 A.M. at Stanford Chapel Cemetary in Lorena.
